Saturday 11th December – bike *** – Around Felixstowe including lunch with ‘Emily’ – cloudy and chilly.

After a lovely sunrise here in Felixstowe which I missed I stayed in bed as very cold with a frost, it then clouded over but the winds were light so we decided to head out on the bikes as they don’t seem to come out of the garage much these days! I made some sandwiches, we wrapped up warm and set off at 11.45 with a couple of things to do for an old friend around Felixstowe town centre before heading down to the Fludgers with a cool sky out over the sea. Inland then to Marsh Lane to Kings Fleet with very few people about, love the peace and quiet of living here on the East Coast:) Stopping to have a quick look at the River Deben with the tide low and several waders in the mud including a curlew. Up to have our lunch with ‘Emily’ at Falkenham church with a warming cuppa, being too cold to sit long we take the lanes over to Kirton, Then Trimley before taking our favourite tree lined track back which was not too muddy. We saw 10 or so deer in the tree field, the first time we have seen them here for ages:) Up past the huge warehouse and home to light the fire and have a cuppa and cake.
We have some mild days now so hopefully I can get out foiling again, looking forward to it, fingers crossed we get some breeze
